Dario Milačak, Dušica Klopić and Saša Klopić have taken another big step for badminton in the region and beyond, confirming their commitment to the development of this sport. From 16 to 20 October 2024, a prestigious technical course for badminton coaches was held in Banja Luka, as part of the development project “Olympic Solidarity,” supported by the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Badminton World Federation (BWF). Fifteen coaches from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, including coaches from the Badminton Club Banja Luka, Badminton Club Sarajevo, Badminton Club HERC Široki Brijeg, and badminton players from Bihać and Travnik, had the opportunity to earn an internationally recognized BWF certificate through the activities of the “Coach Education Level 1 Course.”

The course was led by experienced tutors from the World Badminton Federation, Maja Kersnik from Slovenia, as the main tutor, and Lidija Petrinović from Croatia, who for the first time had the opportunity to use her BWF tutor title. After passing the final exam, all participants successfully became licensed badminton coaches, with a license that is recognized in more than 200 countries around the world.

It is particularly significant that the Sertini Doboj Badminton Club is writing a new page in its history, and the City of Doboj is now richer by three licensed coaches, making this club an important player in the development of badminton in the region.

The Badminton Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Brano Srdić, proudly announces that Bosnia and Herzegovina has gained 15 new certified badminton coaches today! Amila Tepić, Milica Kos, Dušica Klopić, Dario Milačak, Davor Galineo, Goran Gliha, Damir Topalović, Nikola Paponja, Ivan Kvesić, Miroslav Kočić, Dragan Tomić, Damjan Kondić, Zlatko Budimlić, Amar Šaban and Saša Klopić are now BWF Level 1 certified coaches and we are sure that they will transfer their newly acquired knowledge in a great way to all those who want to improve their knowledge of badminton techniques and tactics.

The Badminton Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina would like to thank the excellent tutors, Maja Kersnik and Lidija Petrinović, and all participants of the technical coaching course who have earned all the praise for their approach to their responsibilities and attitude towards work. We would also like to express our gratitude to the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the World Badminton Federation, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of the University of Banja Luka, and the Hotel Tanja for their exceptional support and cooperation in the successful implementation of this extremely important project for the development of badminton in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We would like to especially thank Elena Kevac and Ivor Zekan, who as collaborators made an exceptional contribution to the realization of this course. We also sincerely thank the workers of the sports hall on the campus of the University of Banja Luka and the employees of the Tanja Hotel for their correct and professional attitude towards all participants of the technical course for coaches.
