Badminton Club Sertini Doboj, known for promoting healthy lifestyles, inclusion and sportsmanship, recently visited Šerići, a beautiful village located in the western part of the Živinice municipality, at the very mouth of the Spreča River. This event was an opportunity to introduce badminton and socialize with the local community, which proved to be extremely hospitable and united.

Šerići – a place of tradition and community
Šerići is a small village with around 2,800 inhabitants, but behind that number lies a rich tradition, natural beauty and an active community. Located 10 kilometers west of Živinice, Šerići borders the settlements of Suha and Priluk, while to the north it is adorned with the Spreča River and Lake Modrac, and to the south by the beautiful forest landscapes of Dubrava with hills such as Vis and Gračun.

Šerići is known for its outstanding cultural and artistic society (KUD) that nurtures the folklore and tradition of the region, as well as for the Women’s Association that actively works to empower women and preserve local traditions. Regardless of the size of the town, the locals are extremely united and together they implement many significant projects and organize numerous events that strengthen the spirit of the community.

A day full of sports, fun and excellent trout
During the visit, members of the Sertini Badminton Club – Dario Milačak, Emilija Marčeta, Georgije Todorović and Ivana Miljanović – spent an hour and a half with the young people of Šerić, introducing them to the basic techniques of badminton. The energy and enthusiasm of the local young participants was infectious, while the guests from Sertini conveyed their love for the sport.

In addition to the sports activities, an unforgettable part of the day was the hospitality of Mr. Nedžad from the Erna restaurant, where the club representatives enjoyed top quality trout, a specialty that further enhanced this sports day.

More than sports – the beginning of a new chapter
This small but significant project aims to expand the presence of badminton in Šerići and offer young people from this community the opportunity for regular training. Club Sertini Doboj, which counts many successes and leads projects of inclusion and healthy lifestyles, believes that this sport will further bring together and empower young people in Šerići.

Šerići has once again shown that they are a place where unity, love for tradition and openness to new initiatives form the ideal foundation for progress. We look forward to the continuation of this sports story and further cooperation with this great community!
