A workshop was recently held in Doboj as part of two important projects – “Game Changers” and “Power of Sport”, with the aim of promoting sport as a means of advancing equality, human rights and inclusion. The “Game Changers” project is supported by the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while “Power of Sport” is implemented as part of the European Week of Sport under the slogan #BeActive. Both projects aim to raise awareness of the importance of sport in creating an inclusive society and fighting discrimination.
At the beginning of the workshop, Dario Milačak addressed the participants, who presented basic information about the “Game Changers” project and emphasized its importance in promoting equality and social inclusion. Then, Amir Tursunović presented the “Power of Sports” project, implemented by two non-governmental organizations, with a special focus on promoting the values of sports among young people and marginalized groups.

The workshop included several interactive activities through which participants got to know each other, but also gained new knowledge about human rights, multiethnicity, equality and inclusion. Among the activities were games such as “Badminton Basket Games”, “Word Chain” and “Trust Circle”, which aimed to strengthen teamwork and raise awareness of participants about important social topics.

One of the significant moments of the workshop was the arrival of members of the Badminton Club who have developmental difficulties. The participants were introduced to the results of the previously implemented project “NO DIFFERENCES” and exchanged gifts as a symbol of new friendship. Through this activity, the participants had the opportunity to further develop awareness of equality and the importance of including marginalized groups in society.

In the second part of the workshop, representatives of the “Sertini” Badminton Club held an educational presentation about the Olympic sport of badminton, where all participants could learn the basic techniques of this sport. After the education, a badminton game was organized in pairs, where participants from different backgrounds played together, further strengthening togetherness and mutual understanding.
