A sports story that connected people and cities
On Saturday, April 26, 2025, the third Sertini Open badminton tournament was held in Doboj under the symbolic name NO DIFFERENCE. The event brought together almost 80 competitors from six cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, and in the sports hall of the Vuk Stefanović Karadžić Elementary School there was an atmosphere that is difficult to describe in words – full of adrenaline, support, smiles and inclusion.
The tournament was played on four courts, and competitors competed in different categories: from beginners to veterans. What sets this tournament apart from others is its inclusive message and support for the community – children with developmental disabilities were not participants, but they were an important part of the organization and a symbol of the tournament. As true little hosts, with their presence and engagement they showed that sport belongs to everyone.
“This tournament is not just a sports competition, but a platform that brings people together, breaks down barriers and celebrates diversity. Our message is clear – there is no difference in sports, we are all the same on and around the field,” said organizer and one of the program hosts, Dario Milačak, along with his colleague Saša Klopić.
The tournament paid special attention to the ladies, and thanks to its partner Libresse, each lady received a symbolic token of appreciation. MF Banka also provided valuable prizes for the best competitors and especially supported the participation of the strongest children of Doboj – children with disabilities who showed tremendous spirit and strength.
In addition to sporting excitement, the event is complemented by rich content – a raffle, gifts, food and drinks, professional photo and video material (Sale and Georgije), and a gallery of images that will remain as a memory. More than 50 sponsors and partners stood behind the idea of Doboj becoming the center of the badminton community and an inclusive sports story.
The tournament also served as preparation for major international competitions – Serbian Youth International 2025 and ADA Badminton League, where the best representatives will wear the colors of their club and city.
The organizers from the Sertini Doboj Badminton Club have announced that this tournament is already being planned for next year, and the goal is – even more cities, even more support and an even stronger message:
In sports – there is no difference.
